The Interior

On the inside, the Hector Plus truly impresses the beholder. Crafted for the chauffeur-driven passengers, the middle row of the Hector Plus offers supreme luxury and comfort with its individual captain seats. The third row on the Hector Plus is the obvious, most prominent addition to the cabin, which may be comfortable for young adults. The car also comes with dual tone ‘smoked sepia brown’ interiors as compared to the Hector’s all black interiors to tell them apart.

The Equipment & Technology

To further separate the two SUVs, Hector Plus gets some innovative features such as the hands-free opening of the tailgate, a chit-chat feature on i-SMART Next Gen interface to talk to your MG and gets updates on the connected tech as well. The latest version of i-SMART on the MG Hector Plus offers seamless, on-the-go connectivity to its customers with more than 55 connected car features, to make the driving experience easier, smoother and smarter.

The Power

The Hector Plus is offered in four powertrain options, ranging from a MT diesel engine, a turbo-charged petrol engine with either a MT or AT, as well as a 48V mild-hybrid system paired with the same petrol engine, which makes it India’s first 6-seater 48V hybrid.

The Maintenance

MG Hector Plus offers both MG Shield and the MG Shield+ to provide an assuring experience to its customers. Under MG Shield, MG extends the Free-three ‘5s’, i.e. 5-year/Unlimited KMs warranty, 5-year Roadside Assistance, and Free Labour Charges for the first 5 services. The 6-seater SUV’s Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is among the lowest in the segment, at 45 paise per Km for its petrol variants and 60 paise per KM for the diesel ones (calculated up to 100,000 KMs of usage.

In addition to all the new inclusions, MG is also assuring its customers of a decent resale value of their Hector Plus, with the “3-60” plan, that customers can purchase at a very compelling price. The plan will allow CarDekho to buy back the car at a residual value of 60% after three years of ownership.

The all-new MG Hector Plus will compete with the likes of Mahindra XUV500, upcoming Tata Gravitas, 7-seater variant of the Hyundai Creta and the Toyota Innova Crysta.
